Christmas Party Fun

We had our Christmas party on Wednesday. We had pizza for dinner and opened Christmas gifts and dressed up in reindeer antlers. Watch the video for the excitement of ripping wrapping paper.

Christmas Party- Fun at the Hamster Maze

We took all the kids to the maze for some extreme fun and energy release. They had a great time on the huge twisting slides, ball pit, climbing walls and crawling tubes. It resembles a giant hamster maze to me, especially with all the kids crawling around in it. It was a great way for them to release some of their holiday energy in a fun and safe place. I amazes me to watch the kids go all the way to the top and slide down, they have no hesitation or problem with the height.

Wednesday: No School Fun

We had a great time with the school kids with us on Wednesday during school vacation. We worked on Christmas gifts, played dress up, read books, and played.

Christmas Story

At circle time this week we read the Christmas story and the kids acted it out using a Little People Nativity set. It is a great "hands on" way to bring the story to life. Christmas week, we watched the new Veggie Tales movie "Saint Nicholas," "The Toy that Saved Christmas," and "The Christmas Star." Three wonderful short movies focused on explaining the real reason for Christmas.

Painting Christmas Ornaments

We made Christmas ornaments out of dough, dried them and painted them. The kids enjoyed painting Christmas trees, bells, angels, teddy bears, snowmen, and trains. Once the paint was dry, I varnished them so they will stay nice from year to year.

Decorating Christmas Cookies

We decorated our Christmas cookies this week. The kids love "painting" their cookies with red, green, blue, and yellow frosting and adding sprinkles. The paint brushes make frosting the cookies easier and they look like little paintings when they are done.

Happy Birthday Elizabeth

We celebrated Elizabeth's birthday today. We made birthday crowns with fun princess stickers with frogs, castles and magic mirrors. Everybody loves singing happy birthday but their favorite thing is birthday cake and helping open presents. Happy b-day Elizabeth!

Jenni (our summer helper for the last couple summers) stopped by to visit her favorite kids. She is on winter break from college. The kids were so excited to see her and she was amazed to see how much Sammie has grown. Busy day- preschool party, Elizabeth's birthday party and Jenni!
